19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult year, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Now training with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's maiden championship since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after March of 2023.
Victory also indicates he has achieved 21 championships at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led observers to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was over.
But the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform positively, backed up by an better service.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the last five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a final set.
The opponent saved 4 initial break points in a competitive third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, he secured victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
